Auditorium
Guangdong Peizheng College China
The central auditorium at Peizheng College was designed to house large college-wide lectures and performances for the arts. Although considered extravagant during the planning stages, once constructed, the auditorium became a hub on campus as a space frequently used for large lectures, performance arts and formal school ceremonies. In addition to school events, the auditorium also had the possibility to be rented out for neighborhood events as a gesture of goodwill and bridge-building for the community.
Architecturally, the auditorium is designed to be energy conserving. Build-in air conditioning and windows on both sides of the auditorium promote ventilation and airflow throughout the auditorium, while shades over the windows help to cut off excessive direct sunlight. Outside of the auditorium is a large, covered, open-air space to serve as an outdoor lobby.
