Ransom House
Riverside - California 2004
A house for an economics professor and his artist wife in a retired community next to a canyon. The exterior envelop , the wall materials and color are restricted by the by-laws of the community but not the size of the window and door openings. To make this small house seem larger, all the windows are enlarged to let in light in all directions.
Spaces are designed to flow from one room to another, visually and seamlessly but still maintain privacy. Walls shelves are maximized for their artwork.
